Le Ultimate Weekend in Paris Guide
I spend 3 weeks a year in Paris, so you can trust me for the best spots
Let me start by saying, Paris is NOT the most romantic city on Earth. In fact, the things that make Paris great are not the things that men like - couture, culture and cafes. When I am with my husband in Paris, I am babysitting him - he doesn’t want a macaroon or to look at the sales at Le Bon Marche.
But if I am with my girls (or a very specific girl AT), then Paris is GLORIOUS. We have fun frolicking about the city, doing all the things that girls everywhere love - shopping, chatting, more shopping, having a little girl dinner picnic on the Seine riverbank.
So here is the guide to the most perfect weekend in Paris (take your bestie, and leave your man at home!)
FRIDAY
You obviously took the redeye from New York to Paris, so when you land in the early morning make sure you are early checking into one of these hotels.
My fav new hotel that I stayed at is La Fantaisie which feels like a more whimsical soho house WITH plunge pools, and the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve had. I highly, highly recommend staying here!
You could also just stay at Soho House (especially if you are U27 for a great deal)
For something fancy: definitely the Ritz Paris or Le Gran Magazin
For something different: heaven and hell themed Sinner in the Marais.
11AM: A Paris trip must begin with a croissant. Go to Mamiche for the absolute best one in the city. Also get the vanilla petit choux (or go crazy and get the regular sized choux, it’s that good!). Runner up for croissants is Cedric Grolet, but the line is annoying.
12PM: Time for a quick caffeine pick me up at Boot Cafe!
12.30PM: I love the Picasso Museum - it’s a stunning building, and is a reasonable sized collection so you can do a 45 minute stop. If you love museums, another great spot is the Musée Carnavalet, which is dedicated to the history of the city of Paris.
