PLACES TO WORK FROMπππ©π»βπ»
Where you should work from when WeWork is too depressing, including the wifi codes (you are welcome!)
.Β I asked you to pick what guide I should write next, and this is what you chose. It seems like everyone is working remotely from a coffee ship, which explains why WeWork went out of business. Here are my top spots to work from that have wifi and vibes (I have no clue if the coffee is any good, oops)
Public Hotel This is my absolute number 1 spot. It is flooded with natural light, has seating of every kind, and so many hot people. I think every βinfluencerβ has a meeting with her βmanagerβ here?? Because I love you all, Iβm going to tell you what the wifi password for guests is: Public2017 - so guess I will see you there!Β
Bibliotheque If you have seen everyone working from what looks like a gorgeous hardwood library, this place is it.Β The economics of this place donβt make sense -you can sit for as long as you want, the wifi is free, the service is great. (The ownerβs celebrity plastic surgeon dad is funding it, if you were really curious) I am here once a week at least, eating their grilled cheese and having a hojicha latte (both best in the city).
The Elk on Mott Another place with confusing unit economics but The Elk opened up a literal lounge in the space next to their Mott Street location that you can use as long as you get coffee. Itβs super cozy, but the hours are a little unreliable - so of itβs closed, head to Lost Draft.Β
Sant Ambroeus on Lafayette As the weather gets better, this is the perfect place for you to SABS (Seen and Be Seen). There will be a guy with his checkers set at 2pm on a Monday, lots of hot Italians, me trying to set unsuspecting friends up, and super sweet staff who have no problem if you are there for hours and hours. Every one you know will walk by at some point, and you will get absolutely no work done so consider yourself warned.Β
Hoxton / Marlton / Ace Hotels I find hotel lobbies to be incredibly soothing places to work (and great for people watching). These 3 are my favorite across the city. I would avoid Citizen M hotels - the most insufferable tech bros unfortunately hang out there.Β
New York Public Library It should come as no surprise that NYC subwayβs biggest fan is suggesting a public infrastructure spot - you are literally paying for this with your taxes, so might as well enjoy this. The Rose Reading room is beyond stunning, and the perfect place for deep work since you canβt take calls from there. Itβs also the chicest place for a weddingβ¦Β
Soho House For anyone who is still hanging onto their Soho House memberships (it is distinctly not cool anymore), highly recommend either going there with someone who is under 27 on a Monday (itβs 50% off food and drink) or waiting till the summer to work from the pool on Dumbo House rooftop (view of the city is still iconic!).
If you for some reason, do not need a laptop to work, then my two favorite spots to read, while you eat a pastry, are Do Not Feed The Alligators, and La Cabra.Β
XOXO
